In late 2002, experienced business people joined physicians and biologists working at Lausanne University to found Neocutis, Inc. The founders spent the first 18 months of the company protecting the intellectual property of their proprietary technology, while defining a business strategy, setting up a business plan and hiring the pionneers to establish the skin cell bank.
In July 2004, a group of financial investors closed a first financing round. Investors are a mix of Swiss Venture Capital funds and business angels.
This financing enables Neocutis to launch its first product on the US market: "Neocutis Bio-restorative Skin Cream"; a cosmeceutical sold through physicians. In parallel, Neocutis is in the process of developing a product for treating Vulvar Vestibulitis; a painful condition effecting women. |
