Skin Discoloration Disorders

A novel skin whitening for treating melasma, which is a common skin discoloration disorder in women after pregnancy, is currently being studied in a clinical trial approved by an independent ethics committee. Aiming to target the pathway of melanin formation, the cream contains a combination of prescription strength hydroquinone with a series of skincare actives. The treatment regimen includes the daily use of a day cream with PSP offering also UVB/UVA broad-band sun protection, which helps to prevent melasma from reoccurrence.
